Alamogordo Community Schools approves Public Training resolution

At its regular board conference Aug. 18, Alamogordo Public Colleges Board of Education approved a resolution inquiring for the New Mexico General public Education and learning Department (NMPED) to allow indivudual school districts to make a decision what is greatest for their districts.

The resolution requests the New Mexico General public Education Office fulfill with representatives of all 89 New Mexico college boards for input with regards to what is ideal for each college district in its place of a “one-sizing-matches-all” solution.

“The Alamogordo Public University District Board of Education and learning respectfully requests that the New Mexico Public Education and learning Office guidance and figure out the neighborhood Board of Education’s skill and responsibility to come to a decision irrespective of whether to need that masks be worn at Alamogordo General public Colleges amenities, routines, and transportation motor vehicles, the resolution states.

The resolution was accepted with a few votes in favor of passage, one vote towards and a single abstention.

The 3 faculty board associates who voted for the resolution’s passage had been Alamogordo Public Educational institutions Board of Training President Judy Rabon, Board Vice President Ryan Sherwood and Board Secretary Carol Teweleit.

Alamogordo Public Schools held its regular school board meeting August 18, 2021.

Alamogordo General public Colleges Board member Angela Cadwallader abstained from the vote professing she had not been given sufficient time to critique the resolution and Board Member Anthony Torres voted from the resolution.

Cadwallader stated that she did not know about the agenda item right until she considered the agenda when it had been posted.

Rabon claimed that she put the item on the agenda.

In January 2020, the Alamogordo Public Educational facilities Board of Education voted to go away management as it was because of to the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
